El estilo bicromo y policromo naturalista tuvo una amplia difusión en el territorio que abarcó la cultura maya, en el cual la mayoría de las pinturas localizadas en los interiores de los edificios en los muros y bóvedas, presentan una relación compositiva y discursiva en sus diferentes ***registros*** y distintos espacios, regida por una simetría bilateral a partir del centro del edificio.

In the region covered by the Mayan culture, the bichrome and polychrome naturalist style was widespread. Most of the paintings are found in the interior of buildings, on walls or in vaults. Governed by a bilateral symmetry based on the building’s center, they exhibit a compositional and discursive (dialectic?) relationship in their diverse REGISTERS/RECORDS/RANGES?? and distinct spaces.
