Is it possible to differentiate between "inhalable fraction" and "respirable fraction"? Both these terms are two parameters (apparently different) of the same chemical substance. I can see that "ieelpojamā frakcija" is used in Latvian, but for which one of these does it stand for, and is there a term for the other one? Thanks.

Granulometrija (efektīvs hidrodinamiskais rādiuss, m): dažādie daļiņu izmēri, kas noteikti dokumentā EN 4811, ir:
ieelpojamā frakcija: daļiņu masas frakcija, ko var ieelpot caur degunu un muti;
torakālā frakcija: daļiņu masas frakcija, kas iet gar balseni;
elpošanas frakcija: daļiņu masas frakcija, kas nonāk līdz alveolai.

Inhalable Dust
The EPA describes inhalable dust as that size fraction of dust which enters the body, but is trapped in the nose, throat, and upper respiratory tract. The median aerodynamic diameter of this dust is about 10 µm.
