It is not a good idea to take photographs or film of local people without their consent. Parades and celebrations are normally acceptable photo subjects as are shops and souks, but avoid taking pictures of anybody or anything official, including buildings and motorcades. Palaces, military establishments and potential military or SABOTAGE targets are particularly sensitive.
