French term
le produit de la fréquence de survenue par le facteur de gravité
Non-PRO
French to English
Medical
Medical: Health Care
Blood transfusions
The whole sentence is:
"La criticité d’un évènement est le produit de la fréquence de survenue par le facteur de gravité ; dans l’AMDEC, la criticité d’un évènement est le produit de la fréquence par le facteur de gravité et par la détectabilité."
I simply need to know if the "par" means that it is multiplied or divided by the "facteur de gravité"

the product of frequency/rate of onset and the severity factor
we use the same term in English, with the same meaning. In maths, the product of A and B is equal to A x B.
Note that we say "the product of A AND B" and not "the product of A times B"
But if you don't need to express it quite so mathematically, then I think Drmanu's answer is perfectly fine

No problem - I used to LOVE maths when I was a kid, and even did it at 'A' level! (aeons ago now though!)
