Thanks, Ray. Not out of spite, but genuine curiosity, I wonder why "put into" comes up almost 10 times more often on Google.

agree Nicholas Krivenko : Under, certainly as far as I am concerned. "Release" is good. One could also say "to lift the quarantine/quarantine requirement".

agree GaryG : I've mainly seen the verb used in the sense of forcing people with a dangerous communicable disease to go into isolation
