Dutch term

opwaartse zwelbelasting

Dutch to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering underwater concrete floors
upward swelling load ?

reword

IMHO this is best reworded in English to avoid potential misunderstanbding of the object of the attribute ('swelling' or whatever). Also, as 'swelling' is often used soil engineering contexts to refer to behaviour due to freezing or addition of water, it seems a dubious choice of terms here in English.
I'd be inclined to reword the entire passage along the lines of 'excavation and drainige removes the burden on the subsoil, which tends to rise as a result. This creates and upward force on the floor...
