Discussion

Catherine Antheunissens (asker) Jan 23, 2008:
The context is actually the implementation of a hardware solution for Arcelor Mittal (iron and steel metallurgy).
xxx needs process times as part of the coil input file.
The time will be accumulated by using the process times of a coil as given in the input file. Could it be "bobine" in this context? Thanks in advance!

Anton Konashenok Jan 23, 2008:
"Coil" is not a known computer term. Most likely, the software in question controls a manufacturing process. Try to figure it out from the context.
Anne Bohy Jan 22, 2008:
The source text is obviously a translation from another language... Is this some kind of patent abstract, for instance? Could coil mean loop, or iteration?

bobine, bobinage, rouleau

Most likely one of these three, but try to look elsewhere in the file (or just ask the client what these coils are).

neutral Tony M : We had 'coil' just the other day in a steel context, I think it's a speciliast term in that industry
