[Sewage system] The transport proceeds in slugs as a result of difference in pressure in front of and behind this slug.During the transport through the piping system, the slug is affected by the gravity and will flatten out after a time. For this reason it is necessary to have low points in the piping system where the slug can form again, so that the pressure difference can be re-established.
