Spanish term

subedicion

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Music Recording
From a contract dealing with rights to music:

"Cuando fuese contratada la subedicion de las obras para cualquier pais comprendido dentro del TERRITORIO, las participaciones de los eventuales adaptadores se regiran de acuerdo con las normas y practicas del pais del subeditor."

co-publication

Edición = publishing

PUBLISHER A person or company that publishes and exploits songs, scores, or compositions, usually acquired from the author via an assignment of copyright.

SPLIT PUBLISHING When the publishing rights in a song are held by more than one publisher. Each of the several publishers are called "co-publishers."

So "subedición" would be "co-publication" and "subeditor" would be "co-publisher".

Svenonius (1988) suggested that equivalent
bibliographic items be ordered in the following hierarchical fashion:
• Text – edition statement
• Typesetting – volume and pagination information
• Subedition – publisher
• Imprint – date of publication
• Reprint – microforming, photocopy, or other reprint information

From what I've found, subedition is a term used is the various publishing contexts (including music).

neutral Jim Tucker (X) : This may or may not be correct, but the link you quote (slowaymusic.com) is in horrible English that was not written by a native or even competent speaker - better link please!

Thanks, Jim, that's definitely a valid point; now that I look at it more closely, I see that the English isn't a very good example.
