Education / Pedagogy
Se acorda doamnei Popescu titlul de absolvent al Facultatii de Medicina Dentara si Farmacie, specializarea Medicina Dentara.
As dori sa stiu daca e suficient si in acelasi timp corect sa traduc " we hereby grant Mrs. Popescu the title of graduate from the Faculty of Dental Medicine......"
Multumesc.

Doctor of Dentistry
I am looking at the wording used in my diploma. Do not use "faculty" in terms of college because it's a cognate. It's typically used as higher ed. staff as opposed to "college" in Romanian

: It may be perfectly all right to use 'faculty' (see http://www.thefreedictionary.com/faculty). It is true, however, that in American English 'school' or 'college' are most frequently used in such contexts.

Thank you micawber. It's common practice in the US to replace faculty by "college". I had my BA evaluated and it was replaced; I was part of "faculty" at a US college as well.

NU. Exista MD/Phd si in mod similar, DD/PhD. Cei care vor sa mearga in cercetare, urmeaza facultatea de medicina sau dentistica, fac rezidenta(MD) si iau si doctoratul. De regula, devin cadre universitare si fac munca de cercetare.

: MGhiuzeli scrisese prep. "of", nu "in" şi apoi este des folosit se poate folosi "of dentistry" aşa cum se foloseşte şi pentru "of osteopathic". Dar parcă este şi o revistă: http://www.smilesensation.com/article-cover.jpg

: Not so, Anca. "Bachelor" is a prerequisite for medical school admission. You say "I am a medical doctor/physician"

vezi mai sus, si apropo pe romaneste " facultatea de DENTISTICA" e un nonsens ( caps aici are sensul de sublinitat cuvantul)

Un business card al unui dentist suna asa:Piscopescu, DD(doctor of dentistry) vs Piscopescu, MD(Doctor of Medicine)
