Ce que nous qualifierons d’essais médico-marketing correspond aux essais implantés avant, concurremment, et plus rarement après l’enregistrement de la molécule, mais que le laboratoire n’utilisera pas dans son dossier d’enregistrement.
A footnote further explains:
Les laboratoires pharmaceutiques emploient indifféremment pour qualifier ces essais les termes de médico-marketing, hors AMM ou essais de phase IIIb, le b indiquant qu'il s'agit d'essais tardifs de la phase III.
Medico-marketing or medical marketing trials just doesn't sound right to me (and get only one google hit each). Does anyone know the right term? I've already used "off-label trials" for "essais hors AMM".
