Upper/senior secondary school
You will often need to indicate the vocational nature of some of the Nowegian videregående schools, which will often be equivalent in subject coverage to technical colleges in the UK.

: This has proven to be the most prudent choice, in term of cultural neutrality (e.g. US-UK differences), at least in my experience.

High school or college
This is always tricky... Most people translate "videregående skole" with "high school", but that's not entirely correct. Norwegian "videregående skole" is not mandatory like high school is. It is therefore more like a college: you can choose where to study and what kind of education you want. You could probably use both terms, but you should have a little note that explains the difference between "videregående skole" and the term you use.

: high school is only mandatory for pupils under 16 years old. And degree of freedom in choice of study depends totally on the school district or even the school itself (if it is a privately-owned school). Some shcools have very few electives.
