Finnish term

drallilain mukaan

Finnish to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering pumps
"Drallilain" occurs twice in 2 adjacent sentences in my text. Google doesn't know anything about drallilain or drallilaki.

Can anyone help?

Context: Jos wet well:iin tuleva virtaus aiheuttaa wet well:ssä kiertovirtauksen se saattaa aiheuttaa herätteen pyörimisliikkeelle, joka voimistuu drallilain mukaan kun vesi lähestyy imuaukkoa alentaen ja joissain tapauksissa aiheuttaen pahimmillaan voimakasta tärinää. Käytännön elämässä drallilain voimistama kiertovirtaus on havaittavissa esimerkiksi jonkun vesialtaan tyhjenemisen loppuvaiheessa tyhjennysaukossa.

according to the law of conservation fo the angular momentum

'Dralli' means 'angular momentum'. 'Drallilaki' can be translated as 'the law of conservation of the angular momentum', which means that if the radius of gyration decreases, the spinning rate increases. 'Drallilaki' is not a popular term in physics, as far as I know. It is just a special case of the law of conseravation of (total) momentum (liikemäärän säilymislaki).

BTW. There's anything where 'alentaen' in the original could refer to. It could be 'alentaen painetta' or 'alentaen nesteen pinnankorkeutta'. If the quality of the whole document is like it is in this passage, I feel sorry for you. Hopefully the document isn't very large.

Unfortunately the whole document is like this, and full of typos! Thanks for your sympathy.
