In my opinion, depression is a disease, therfore according to major symptom we can think about appropriate term. I feel, Nirutsahit is better.

I have hit on hataash, hatotsaahit, udaas and dukhi for feeling down, depressed, sad, blue respectively. Can you help matching the right terms for each.
Would hatotsaahit be appropriate for depressed?
