I am not pedantic, BUT these are not only made of rubber and there is a different kind of doormat which is 100% rubber. That is why I am toying with the idea I posed as a question to Armorel below. I want this to be good English and correctly understood by readers who may not be familiar with the product.

OK, Stephen, then "rubber-backed doormat". However, the German only says "rubber", not "rubber-backed".

I like all the suggestions so far, but they do not include the carpeting which is rubber-backed...I even have these in my house and cannot think of a good English term!

I think you are on the right lines. It's more than an ordinary doormat. People with pets, or those working outside have them. They are claimed to attract the dirt off feet.

I have no quibble whatsoever with the existing suggestion(s) from my esteemed colleagues, but for the sake of pedantic completeness I would point out that the fairly literal translation also gets some googles.
