"express lane" is another term we have, for quick easy things. For instance, at the post office, there is an express lane for people who have a card to pick up a registered parcel. They hand in the card, and someone gives them the package, they sign and leave. It's not like the normal postal line where they are weighing, calculating, measuring, paying, etc. etc.
