German term

Bugsperrholz

German to English Tech/Engineering
We're talking about a chair here, and this is the advertising blurb.

Can't find this anywhere! The spelling mistake is original, which leads me to think this term could also be spelt wrong as well ...

TIA for all help

Mary

Oops Sorry Dietrich, that was my fault! I forgot the 'erreicht' at the end - which doesn't make it wonderful German, but does make it a little better. My customer tells me 'Hochrckfederungs-Polyther' is 'high resiliance polyether', and you know what they say about the customer always being right!

Bend plywood

The term "Bugholz" does exist. It is bend wood(en layers). Think of the famous Thonet chairs.
"Bug" comes from "biegen". It has nothing to do with a ship's nose although it is term first used nautics

agree Anne Humphreys (X) : Is this the same as bentwood? (google search for Bentwood chair finds you lots of commercial sites with pictures of them)

high quality or choice plywood

"Bug" in the "Metzgerei" means choice or prime cut roast maybe they meant it in this sense?

Buchensperrholz- beech plywood

I agree with Dietrich- the sentence is defintely not kosher and in view of the *Birker*, Bug might just be a typo. A google search got many hits for chairs etc made from beech plywood.

The Point stacking chairs offer a molded barrel shaped back constructed
from 3/8" thick laminated beech plywood. The frames are constructed from 1 ...
