German term
Querschnittswirkung
German to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
From a magazine article talking about the importance of investing in innovation.
The verb "entfalten" has confused me a little bit too. I think it's saying that integrating the innovation process into marketing, R&D, production and sales effects lots of different areas, but I can't quite get it into decent English.
Can you help?

has an impact across the board
Or "has an impact across the company", whatever. I'd starti the sentence with "By integrating ..." and then that should fit in nicely at the end.

Thanks very much for clearing this up for me. Cheers! |

interdisciplinary/across-the-board effect
As an initial thought
16 mins
cross section(al) effect
even though it is not necesarily an expression used in business, I don't see any reason for not using it in this context

horizontal synergies
I put this up mainly because it's such an appalling piece of management-speak, but it could be appropriate
in any event, I'd draw attention to the 'entfaltet' which seems to imply that the 'Wirkung', whatever it is, is the subsequent result of the effect of the innovation process on the various areas, not its impact/effect on them in the first place

maybe something with 'release' 'generate' or just 'enable' for 'entfalten'?
