French term

en appui à

French to English Bus/Financial International Org/Dev/Coop
"En ce qui concerne l’organisation d’ateliers régionaux ou nationaux, le [organisme] a participé, en appui à la [organisme partenaire] à plusieurs ateliers régionaux "

I can't tell if it means "on behalf of" or "with the support of", or something else. The partner organization is the larger (i.e. more over-arching) of the two.

Thanks for input!!

Thanks again CMJ - I think that's fine. Thanks for helping me process that, and thanks to Chappy, too. :)

I think that the junior organisation supports its parent in the same way that the parent may help it out financially, etc. In this case, it is probable that something was organised nationally and the junior player played its role at local level in support

just making sure "in support of" was an option I considered, too, but I wasn't sure because it would then mean that the sub-organization was attending a workshop "in support of" it's own sponsor/mentor organization. In most instances throughout the doc, it's the other way around. The larger organization is financing things for the smaller, or is sending the smaller almost as a delegate to a certain function on their mutual behalf. Perhaps I'm too hung up on a subtlety. That happens.

I think "in support of" is fine but this might provde a more "neutral" solution if you're worried about overstating the level of support.
