„Tchibogolfer“als Zielgruppe mit sportlichem Anspruch

I get what it means - a golfer who buys their equipment at low prices from Tchibo. What on earth could be a valid US English equivalent? I would prefer not to use equivalent company names (like Wal-Mart perhaps?) in case it gets me into hot water, but I'm open to bright ideas. :-)

budget golfer
My take.
Budget golf gets 122,00 googles. "Budget Golfer" 1,977.

Like our "Budget Inns" (23 million googles), "Budget Rentals" (24 million googles), etc. Nothing tacky with that.

No-Name Golfer
No-Name expresses the concept without being to specific. Everybody should get the same idea.

How about "yellow-pack golfer" Orla? (80s nostalgia is in, after all) ;-)

Would probably only mean anything to Irish readers, of course!

duffer
this may be strictly US usage, but a "duffer" is a mediocre golf player - roughly as dismissive as "Tchibogolfer"

--------------------------------------------------
on further consideration, 'duffer' deals more with the skill level than the lack of snob appeal implied here.
'Bargain basement golfer' maybe?

Or how about "discount golfer"?

: Ouch. Tchibogolfers aren't necessarily bad golfers. http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:LinoCg1P3C4J:golf.about.c... duffer&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=2//I love the word "snob appeal"! Thanks, idwerk, please have a great week! ;-

Another one to consider.
Discussion
In this case, yes, the presentation is about attracting more golfers to a particular brand. This slide deals with the various categories of golfers - casual players, competitive players, Tchibo golfers, beginners etc. In Ireland, we'd probably substitute Tchibo for Lidl or Argos but it is a rather dimissive kind of connotation :)
