Non so bene come vada tradotta quest'espressione ma di sicuro è una frase fatta. Cercando tra virgolette "I make it about me" su Google vengono fuori un sacco di risultati e da questi siti sembra che la frase indichi un atteggiamento egoista, ma non solo in senso negativo. Qualcosa come 'starmene sulle mie'. Oppure 'farlo per me'. Ti riporto alcune frasi:
