English term

band (of something)

Non-PRO English Other Cosmetics, Beauty
Apply a band of polish down the center of the nail, then one to either side.

If "touch" means a little bit, what does "band" connote?

a stripe

Putting a stripe (or a line) in the middle, then adding a stripe to either side.

Perhaps a way to cover the whole nail?

Sometimes bands are different colors.
