German term

Strafe erlassen

German to English Law/Patents Law (general) Criminal Law Term
"Strafe erlassen mit Wirkung vom 12.4.2005." From a Führungszeugnis. This follows a two year sentence imposed in 2002 followed by a period of probation for a criminal offence. I take this to mean the sentence has expired or the person has been released completely from the sentence but how do I best express this in legal English?
