Skischaukel and Skiarena are terms typically used in Germany and Austria. I can only speak for the US, so I'm not sure how the Brits would call it, but you wouldn't find expressions such as "ski arena" anywhere in the US. It's just called a ski area, ski resort, or ski terrain.

---
The winter-sports season here lasts December through April, and there are more than 52 lifts and cable cars in the tri-resort area, plus some 97km (60 miles) of prepared runs. This well-known ski-lift network in the Salzburg mountains is called Drei-Taler-Skischaukel (Three-Valley Ski Swing).
