It`s a place name of a town in Greece. Could it be Salonika in English? I did get some hits in Google for this name (Salonicco), but I am quite sure that there is a translation from Italian into English. Can anyone help?

Thessalonica
with an "a" at the end. I think that "thessoniki" is the transliteration of a the Greek name for the city.
