Ken Cox May 31, 2005:
Hi Jianming, thanks for the compliment, but there are other Prozians who are much better chemists than I am. However, I used to do my own film processing (B&W), which is where I learned the term.

Thank you both! Thanks! Kenneth: Why didn't you mention in your profile here, you are also a true chemist as well? :-)

chemical systems and service plans

'Chemistry' is often used in tecnical jargon to refer to a particular chemical system or set of chemicals used in a particular process (e.g film processing).

And needless to say, \'service plans\' means plans or programmes for servicing and maintaining processes and/or equipment.

agree Jörgen Slet : I think this is the meaning. I would use a translation as loose and broad as the source of course :)

Either the science of chemistry or human relationships with their partners

It could mean two things:

1) The science of chemistry, that they must have their chemical knowledge cutting edge and up to date so that it may remain valid for many years. In other words, if their knowledge-base about chemistry is obsolete or old, that won't do for this sort of business.

2)Since it talks about technology partners, it could also mean the relationship with these partners (that is the "chemistry" between these partners) is durable and long-lasting.

Service plans could mean the service condition (pay, promotions, perks, etc) that is offered to the scientists.

agree humbird : Agree. Because they are in phermaceuticals, they are playing words (chemistry has different meanings as you pointed out).
