Mi duda es si debe utilizarse "a la mesa" o "en la mesa", u otra construccion.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Por eso propongo un cambio de verbo en la primera pregunta (yo lo digo así cuando entro en un bar o en un restaurante).

: Uno "se acerca a la mesa a recoger algo" pero "se sienta en la mesa a conversar o comer." De hecho, naci y vivi en Sur America hasta principios de college y su respuesta no me suena bien. Discúlpenme si estoy equivocada. Mucha suerte!

: Totalmente de acuerdo!!!! Entiendo que los españoles "la lleven" en el idioma, pero en Latinoamérica también hemos desarrollado el idioma! En Chile, sentarse a la mesa es "sentarse a comer". Conversación o reunión de trabajo: sentarse en la mesa.
