German term

Durch Reibungswärme wird an den Oberflächen und dicht darunter die Schmelztemperatur erreicht

German to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Hi, all

I'm translating into Spanish the English translation of a German original file. I'm not quite sure but it seems to me that after "causes the surfaces" there is something missing. What's wrong?

Durch die Reibungswärme wird an den Oberflächen und dicht darunter schnell die Schmelztemperatur erreicht.

The heat generated by the friction causes the surfaces and just below to achieve the melting temperature.

I will appreciate your help in English as I don't read German.

Many thanks

German term (edited): Doubt with the English translation of a German source
Selected

Literal translation below

On account of the heat generated by friction, the melting temperature is reached rapidly on the surfaces and immediately below these (not such nice English, but this gives you the exact wording).

A very good morning to you, too. Lovely sunshine here. Yes, I thought if I give a literal translation of the whole sentence, asker can do as she likes.
agree Trudy Peters : Yes, definitely reached as opposed to achieved

The original German is leaving out the words in [...] above.
I agree that it sounds as if something is missing in English; you can decide what is required in Spanish
