forget about the "aktion"

More than 1,100 farmers participated in the prize draw. Or something like that. We don't have to make it into an "action" in English.

Once you've decided whether it is a lottery, raffle, sweepstakes, or whatever, just use that.
Over 1,100 farmers participated in the two sweepstakes. (PC???)

agree Annika Neudecker : Yes, I think the important thing is to find out if it's a raffle, lottery, sweepstakes etc. - no "Aktion". Nothing wrong with "farmers".
