  Each and every single translation needs to be accurate and correct, but this is even
  more important in the medical domain. One single error could have disastrous or
  even fatal consequences. This domain also requires an extensive knowledge of
  medical conditions and terminology. “Clearance”, for instance, has a total different
  meaning in medical than in technical documentation.

  This is a very specific domain with an even more specific vocabulary. My background
  in economics and law - acquired during my secondary education - comes in very
  handy at this point. It comes to dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s when
  translating a financial report. Terms like “granny bond”, “grandfather clause”, “gray
  knight”, “stop and reverse”, “embedded derivative”, “marshalling of securities” etc. do
  no frighten me at all. These terms go to show a literal translation can lead to
  hilarious results.

  beauty (hairstyles, cosmetics,...) to nutritional supplements, from cultural to
  gastronomic translations... The varierty of this domain is endless, so it always stays
  interesting.
