Source text - English The DocuTrail Desktop application is used by a service provider in conjunction with fulfilling a client’s work-order request to transfer documents from their paper-based to a digital medium. Using DocuTrail Desktop, a client entity authorized user (client) sends a digitization work order to a service provider entity (service provider) that will scan or otherwise digitize the documents.
The service provider entity assigned the work order by the client first uses DocuTrail Desktop after receiving the client’s paper-based documents. A service provider authorized user (service provider) then prepares the documents for scanning.
After the service provider completes receiving and preparing client work-order documents for dematerialization, the service provider then uses either DocuTrail Pro or a third-party capture or conversion application to scan or convert the documents into Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files (files with a .pdf file extension).
The DocuTrail Pro and DocuTrail Desktop applications are complementary and are designed to be used together to dematerialize documents, and then to transfer these completed digitized files along with their corresponding metadata back to the client. DocuTrail Pro has a user interface that includes a section to scan documents into PDF files, and automatically send them to DocuTrail Desktop. DocuTrail Desktop has a section where client work-order digitized document files created in DocuTrail Pro are displayed and from where they can be transferred back to the client.
