Source text - English International migration is a global phenomenon affecting nearly all countries in the
world. Its role and impact is going to be much more significant in the future given the
increasing effects of global economic and demographic imbalances, globalization,
and climate change. Not surprisingly, therefore, the dynamics of international migration
and remittances have attracted the attention of policy makers around the world. This can
partly be gauged from the regular meetings on the issue in international organizations
such as the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations, and the World Bank,
as well as the notable annual Global Forum on Migration and Development, which
is the largest and most comprehensive global platform for dialogue and cooperation
on international migration and development. Within this context, developing Asia has
been a net exporter of migrant workers and their rapidly growing remittances have
become a stable source of foreign exchange incomes, helping maintain the stability
and resilience of the Asian economy and improving the welfare of migrant and other
households. However, migration can also have negative repercussions for the host and
home countries.

Translation - English Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, from its inception, has been working as an auxiliary body of the Government in humanitarian work during natural and manmade disasters in different regions of the country. Everyone still remembers the diligent efforts of the volunteers in rescuing people during recent Rana Plaza tragedy. This type of humanitarian service of Red Crescent Society is continuously in action throughout the country through different projects. Moreover, as a co-operative organization of International Humanitarian Movement, Red Crescent Society is also playing an important role in both national and international arena through its different projects.
The organizational structure of the Society is present in every district and divisional phase with unit offices. A large number of volunteers as well as members of different category are relentlessly working for the betterment of underprivileged and distressed people of disaster prone areas.
In addition to the regular work of the Society, the Information and Public Relations Department is continuously working with the local electronic and print media to inform the general people about different programs aided by International Federation, ICRC and a number of donors. These programs get media coverage through the National Dailies and TV Channels.

I, Khandaker Mehedi Hasan, have been working in the field of development as a translator & Interpreter, project management professional, localization professional for the last ten years. So far I have worked with organizations like Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie, U.S. Embassy, Dhaka; Canadian High Commission-Bangladesh, IFRC Bangladesh, German International Cooperation (GIZ) Bangladesh, UNDP Bangladesh, FAO of the UN, and few others.
As a Language Consultant with U.S. Embassy-Dhaka, I have worked in three different projects naming Anti Terrorism Assistance (ATA) under the Department of State (DoS), International Criminal Investigation and Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) under the Department of Justice (DoJ) and Office of Prosecutorial Development and Training (OPDAT). The participants in those training are Bangladesh police, RAB, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh navy and Special Security Force, Public Persecutors. The trainers are active and/or retired FBI and/or police officers and Attorneys from the United States.
With GIZ Bangladesh, I have worked in the Rule of Law Program on Training of Trainers (ToT) where the participants’ group is comprised of different Govt. and private organizations including local NGOs. For Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie, I have worked in Investigative journalism training where the participants were print and electronic media journalists, and in Documentary TV Production training with university students.
So while working with all these organizations, I have built up a strong network with government and private stakeholders and partners of different projects. I believe, if given the opportunity, this rapport would help me to perform my duties more effectively as well as efficiently.
In addition to that, I worked as a trainer for Entiendo Professional Language Centre where I guided and motivated young generations to start their career as freelance interpreters/translators.
