Translations
My main working pair is Czech->Turkish, but I also translate from English, Slovak and occasionally German into Turkish.
In 1998 I passed the Czech state exam magna cum laude and became a certified translator and interpreter.
Since, the amount of technical translations kept rising continuously parallel to the growing business volume between Czech Republic and Turkey (1.3 billion € in 2008). The scope of my work mirrors the Czech-Turkish business relations: A lot of energetics, machinery, car industry, pharmaceutics, lately quite a bit of IT. The companies I worked for include TPCA, Bochemie, Škoda Export (now ČKD), Zentiva, TEİAŞ and many more. I also receive work from all major Czech translation agencies. In the last five years I translated more than 1 million words.
I have a good understanding of computers and CAT tools. My preferred CAT software is Swordfish. In 2003 I translated the novel Andel by Jáchym Topol and later several poems by Miloslav Topinka.
Interpreting
State visits (including 3 presidential visits), business meetings; 9 months in-house interpreter/translator for TPCA - Toyota training program, Turkish films on the Febiofest film festival. |
