Hi Alessandra Recently, I was considering a job in England (instead of freelancing) and asked a friend who lives in Surrey (South East) about tax/living costs just to get an idea of how much I would need to earn to make a fair living. I thought maybe his answer might be helpful to you: You pay about 1/3 of your income in tax and NI combined. You could pay about £50-150 per month in Council Tax Rent about £1000 per month for a one-bedroom flat.
