I quite agree with you. It is definitely not Arabic, it looks like Urdu as they use the Arabic Alphabet. Sorry I can not be of any more help, regarding the origin of the coin.

Hello Steve, The word "Farahabad" appears in the last line. According to Wikipedia, Farahabad was a palace and a city, named after it, in Iran. You can check the Wiki for more information about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farahabad
