Welcome to my profile. As a professional translator working from English and Spanish into Dutch, with more than 15 years' experience, I love to help people and companies to communicate with each other. Whether it's about legal, financial, commercial or creative marketing translations, I'll be delighted to hear from you.
Languages:Dutch: native speaker. English: IoL DipTrans English-Dutch. I have a near native command of English, including published articles in English, and I currently live and work in the UK. Spanish: MA in Spanish (cum laude), specialising in Translation. I have lived and worked in Spain for 17 years.
Specialisations:Law: Dutch Law degree (MLL), postgraduate courses in Spanish law, working knowledge of the English legal system and terminology and 5 years experience as an inhouse legal translator and paralegal. Today, this experience helps me to produce professional translations of legal documents for a wide range of translation companies and other clients, including the EU Court of Justice.
Finance: Qualified Securities Representative and 5 years multilingual work experience at the equities sales trading desk of an international investment bank, which provided me with a thorough knowledge of the financial markets and the investment services industry. My financial translation work ranges from investment fund reports and financial market comment to annual reports, financial press releases and a financial management handbook.
Marketing copy and other translations: I have translated a wide variety of marketing materials and other texts. I love writing and I am delighted to work with my clients to recreate their marketing copy in the words and style that suit their purpose and audience. Past projects include marketing brochures, transcreation, product/company news flashes for social media sites, newsletters, company websites, consumer information, an awareness campaign on self-image for teenagers, publications for the general public about environmental issues and climate change, the history of a multinational company.
