Il mondo delle vacanze ormai sta vivendo un’evoluzione senza precedenti e a ritmi velocissimi: se fino a pochi anni fa l’arrivo del web e dei siti che aiutavano anche il viaggiatore meno esperto a pianificare i propri spostamenti ha dato l’avvio a questo cambiamento, ora la presenza diffusa dei device mobili ridefinisce ulteriormente questo scenario.
L’uso di algoritmi matematici altamente sofisticati ha contribuito nel tempo a trasformare il modo in cui i consumatori scelgono le proprie vacanze permettendo ai travel promoter di attingere ad un elevato numero di dati e preferenze di acquisto per personalizzare sempre di più le offerte di viaggio, in grado di conquistare anche il turista più esigente. L’industria dei viaggi si è così legata a doppio nodo con la tecnologia, in particolare con il settore delle applicazioni mobili, e ciò dimostra come il cambiamento nella fruizione dei dispositivi tecnologici abbia modificato le preferenze dei consumatori e le pratiche di acquisto di un pacchetto vacanze.
Secondo una ricerca condotta da Cisco in vista della prossima edizione del Travel Technology Europe show, la conferenza specializzata nella tecnologia e nell’e-marketing per gli addetti ai lavori del settore del turismo (agenzie di viaggio, tour operator, aziende dei trasporti) previsto per febbraio 2015, il 71% dei professionisti che operano nel campo dei viaggi ha dichiarato di avere una presenza costante su siti come Facebook e Twitter, considerati oramai “essenziali” per il loro business.
Translation - English Tourism has changed. The world of travel is evolving at breakneck speed like never before. Until just a few years ago, this change was driven by the arrival of the web and sites that help less experienced holidaymakers plan their travel arrangements. Now the situation is shifting again thanks to the widespread availability of mobile devices.
The use of highly sophisticated mathematical algorithms has gradually helped transform the way consumers pick their holidays, allowing travel promoters to draw on a vast array of data and purchasing preferences to create increasingly personalised holiday deals capable of winning over even the most discerning of travellers. The travel industry has become closely intertwined with the world of technology, particularly mobile apps, and this demonstrates how the growing use of smart devices has changed consumers’ preferences and the way they buy their holiday packages.
According to a study carried out by Cisco in preparation for the upcoming February 2015 edition of the Travel Technology Europe trade show, a conference specialising in technology and online marketing for tourism industry insiders (travel agents, tour operators and transport companies), 71% of professionals working in the world of travel say that they maintain a constant presence on sites like Facebook and Twitter, which they now consider “essential” for their business.
