A motivated and responsible MA graduate seeking employment in the translation and project management
industry. 4 years of Japanese Language study at University with a degree level of Japanese. I can
demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team with the ability and confidence to
produce language that is authentic, natural and easy to understand. During my BA and MA degrees, I
successfully combined my studies with work and other commitments showing myself to be self-motivated,
organised and capable of working under pressure. I have the ability to use materials and software with
technical competence, imagination and awareness of how they meet translation requirements. I have a
genuine interest in translation and am eager to develop a successful career in the industry.

私は、言語学習に興味関心があり、今まで勉強してきたことを活かし、より言語について学
習するために翻訳の仕事を希望します。6 年前にバックパッキングで日本に初めて来た際に、日本の文化、伝統、おもてなし を体感
し、その中でも日本の言語の美しさに強い関心を抱きました。そのため、イギリスに帰国し、
大学に入学し日本語の勉強、翻訳を専攻しました。最初の翻訳経験は日本の漫画やゲームを
日本語から英語に翻訳したことです。また、卒業論文では小説「ホビット」を分析するため
に翻訳を行ないました。私の卒業論文は高く評価されたため、イギリスの週刊誌に記事とし
て掲載されました。
また、日本では沖縄にて語学留学をし、北海道ではシェフとして働いたことにより、今まで
知らなかった日本の文化、新しい言葉を多く学び、学んだことを日々の生活で実践し、身に
つけることが出来たと思います。
これらの経験から、日本の文化を常に体感できる日本にて、翻訳者として活躍し自身の成長
に繋げていきたいと思いま
