Turska zalijetanja na područje Cetinske krajine već od kraja XIV. stoljeća, a posebno osvajanje sinjske utvrde 1513. godine, označili su početak mukotrpnog razdoblja borbi Cetinjana i Osmanlija koje se protegnulo sve do druge dekade XVIII. stoljeća. U više od dva ''mračna'' stoljeća na ovom su se teritoriju vodile bezbrojne bitke Mlečana, Austrijanaca i domaćeg stanovništva protiv islamskih snaga koje su ugrožavale prevlast kršćanskih sila i sigurnost lokalnog stanovništva, ugnjetavale njihovu svakodnevnicu, sijale strah i trepet za život te prijetile izmjenom etničke i konfesionalne slike ovih prostora. No, nakon više od 150 godina turske vlasti nad Cetinskom krajinom dogodila se značajna promjena: veliki poraz Turaka pod Bečom u rujnu 1683. godine koji je postao okidač za izbijanje niza pobuna protiv Osmanske vlasti diljem pokorenih područja, pa tako i Cetinske krajine. Morejski rat (1684.-1699.) koji je potom uslijedio doveo je do nekoliko mletačko-vlaških pokušaja oslobođenja grada iz turskih ruku koji su napokon polučili uspjeh 1686. godine pod vodstvom dalmatinskog providura Girolama Cornara. No, oslobođenje grada nije označilo prestanak turskih nastojanja. Osmanski nasrtaji na grad i okolicu nastavili su se sve do kraja rata i potpisivanja mira u Srijemskim Karlovcima 1699. godine, ali i kasnije, posebno za vrijeme Drugog morejskog rata (1714.-1718.), u našim krajevima poznatog i kao ''Sinjski rat'', kada je napokon odbijen i posljednji turski pokušaj opsade Sinja 1715. godine. Ovi sukobi označili su konačni kraj višestoljetnih turskih pokušaja da podvrgnu Cetinsko područje svojoj vlasti, a ujedno i početak urbanističkog, trgovačkog i slobodnog kršćanskog razvoja grada pod barjakom Republike Svetog Marka.
Translation - English Sinj and the Otoman Empire: a brief overview of their history
The Turkish incursions into the Cetinska krajina territory from the end of the 14th century, and particularly the conquest of the Sinj fortress in 1513, have marked the beginning of the arduous era of conflicts between the Cetina inhabitants and the Ottoman Empire army, which lasted until the second decade of the 18th century. Throughout more than two ‘’dark’’ centuries, this territory saw numerous battles between Venetians, Austrians and local residents against the Islamic forces which imperilled the predominance of the Christian forces, jeopardized the security of domestic population, endangered their everyday routines, caused panic and fright for life, and threatened to alter the ethnical and confessional structure of the dwellers of the area. Yet, after over 150 years of Ottoman dominance over the Cetina region, a significant change occurred: the great defeat of Ottoman army near Vienna in September 1683 which triggered the outburst of numerous uprisings against the Turkish rule throughout the conquered areas, including Sinj and Cetinska krajina. The ensuing Morrean war (1684-1699) included several Venetian-Vlaian attempts to overtake the fortress of Sinj from the Turkish guards, which eventually ended in a successful liberating venture led by Dalmatian captain-general Girolamo Cornaro in 1686. However, the Venetian overtaking of the town did not mark the abandonment of the Turkish attacks. The Ottoman attempts to take over the town continued until the very end of the war and the signing of the peace Treaty of Karlowitz in 1699, and even after that, particularly during The Second Morrean War (1714-1718), also known as ‘’The War Of Sinj’’, during which the hindmost Turkish attempt to siege the fortress in 1715 was repelled. These conflicts marked the conclusion of several-centuries-long Turkish attempts to subdue the Cetina area to their rule, as well as the beginning of the urban, commercial and unrestrained Christian development of the town now under the banner of the Republic of Saint Marco.

During the past several years, ultrasound has been effectively applied as an emerging advanced oxidation process (AOP) for a wide variety of pollutants in wastewater treatment. It is proven to be an effective method for degrading organic effluents into less toxic compounds and able to mineralize the compounds completely
in certain cases (Guo et al. 2010). The ultrasound process does not require addition of oxidants or catalyst, and does not generate additional waste streams as compared to adsorption or ozonation processes. Ultrasound process is also not affected by the toxicity and low biodegradability of compounds (Fu et al. 2007). Besides, ultrasonic degradation is a non-random process, with cleavage taking place roughly at the center of the molecule and with degrading rate faster with larger molecule (Grönroos et al. 2008).
Tijekom nekoliko posljednjih godina, ultrazvuk se uspješno upotrebljava kao sve prisutniji "napredni proces oksidacije" (AOP – advanced oxidation process) za širok spektar zagađivača pri postupanju s otpadnim vodama. Ultrazvuk se pokazao učinkovitom metodom razgradnje organskih otpadnih voda na manje toksične spojeve, kao i sposobnom dovesti do potpune mineralizacije spojeva u pojedinim slučajevima (Guo i dr., 2010.). Ultrazvučni postupak ne zahtijeva dodavanje oksidansa ili katalizatora te, za razliku od postupaka absorpcije ili ozonacije, ne stvara sekundarne vrste otpada. Na ultrazvučni proces također ne utječu toksičnost i slaba biorazgradnja spojeva (Fu i dr., 2007.). Osim toga, ultrazvučna razgradnja nije slučajan proces, nego se cijepanja događaju približno oko središta molekule i s većom stopom razgradnje kod većih molekula (Grönroos i dr., 2008.).

Source text - Croatian Ovim se diplomskim radom nastoji ukazati na važnost predviđanja poslovnog neuspjeha trgovačkih društava u dinamičnom okruženju tranzicijskog gospodarstva kao što je Hrvatsko. U tu svrhu je postavljen i odgovarajući cilj, a to je izvođenje modela za predviđanje poslovnog neuspjeha jednog trgovačkog društva. Međutim, empirijsko istraživanje obavljeno nad uzorkom od 62 poslovna subjekta u Republici Hrvatskoj nije rezultiralo izvođenjem efikasnog modela. Logističkom regresijom analizirana je pretpostavka da je temeljem javno dostupnih računovodstvenih informacija i financijskih pokazatelja moguće oblikovati efikasan model za predviđanje poslovnog neuspjeha. Pri tom su kao prediktori korišteni financijski pokazatelji koji su se putem univarijantne analize pokazali kao statistički značajni. Istraživanje je ukazalo na odabrane prediktore kao skupinu nepouzdanih faktora razlučivanja između financijski stabilnih poslovnih subjekata i onih nad kojima je pokrenut stečajni postupak te da se s raspoloživim podacima ne može oblikovati snažan model za predviđanje poslovnog neuspjeha.
Translation - English SUMMARY (logistička regresija)
This thesis deals with an attempt to point out to the importance of predicting business failure of trade associations within a dynamic environment of a transitional economy such as Croatian. For this purpose a corresponding objective had been set; creating a model for predicting business failure of a trade association. However, the empirical research conducted on the sample of 62 business subjects in the Republic of Croatia did not result in generating an efficient model. The presumption that it is possible to establish an efficient model for predicting business failure on the basis of publically accessible accounting information and financial ratios was analysed by applying logistic regression. In doing so, the financial ratios proven as statistically significant through an univariate analysis were used as the predictors. The research pointed out to the selected predictors as the group of unreliable factors of discernment between the financially stable business subjects and those over which bankruptcy proceedings had been initiated, as well as that the available data cannot be used to generate a strong model for predicting business failure.

Glavni cilj ovog diplomskog rada je dobiti informacije o raširenosti beskućništva u Republici Hrvatskoj i u zemljama Europske unije, o uzrocima koji dovode do njega, te o politikama i startegijama prema beskućništvu u pojedinim zemljama. Ovaj rad je podjeljen na šest dijelova. U prvom dijelu rada biti će riječ o samom pojmu beskućnišva, te o uzrocima koji dovode do njega. Drugi dio rada bavi se problematikom beskućništva u Republici Hrvatskoj, s posebnim naglaskom na beskućnicima grada Zagreba. Treći dio rada prikazuje stanje beskućništva u zemljama Europske unije, dok četvrti dio rada daje prikaz mjera i strategija u borbi protiv njega. Peti i šesti dio rada govore o primjerima dobre prakse u borbi protiv beskućništva, te o socijalnom eksperimentu „stanovanje prvo“.
Translation - English Summary: The Homeless in the Republic of Croatia
The objective of this thesis is to obtain information on the prevalence of homelessness in the Republic of Croatia and in the states of the European Union, on the causes leading to this phenomenon, and on the policies and strategies related to homelessness in particular countries. The thesis is divided into 6 sections. The first chapter deals with the notion of homelessness in general, as well as with the causes of this phenomenon. The second chapter focuses on the issue of homelessness in the Republic of Croatia, with particular reference to the homeless of the city of Zagreb. The third chapter provides an overview of the status of the homeless living in various countries of the EU, while the fourth chapter puts forward an analysis of the procedures and strategies employed in fighting homelessness. The final two chapters show several examples of the effective practice of fighting homelessness, and introduce the “Housing First” social experiment.

Esurance also reduced their cost per acquisition by 20-30% compared to other channels by using Google mobile ads with click-to-call. Our studies have shown that adding Call Extensions to mobile ad campaigns have improved advertisers’ average click-through rates by about 6-8%.
Advertisers using Google call forwarding numbers see calls last over six minutes on average.

In response to calls by the European Council and the European Parliament to improve implementation of the single market, the communication outlines an action plan meant to ensure rapid progress in these key sectors, all of which have: considerable economic weight.
The Commission intends to address delays in implementing legislation by stepping up its interactions with the member states, creating monitoring tools and involving all players – sometimes including stakeholders. More generally, it plans to introduce new “single market governance”.
In the services sector, the Commission will ensure correct application of the Services Directive (2006/123), but also those on postal services (2008/6) and recognition of professional qualifications (2005/36), currently undergoing revision, and Directive 2011/7 on late payments, which has to be transposed by 8 March 2013.

Komisija se namjerava prihvatiti kašnjenja u implementaciji propisa pojačanjem interakcija s državama članicama, stvaranjem instrumenata nadzora i obuhvaćanjem svih sudionika – ponekad uključivši i dionike. Općenitije, namjerava uvesti novu „upravu jedinstvenog tržišta“.
