A native English speaker, fluent in German, I specialise in editing and translating texts related to science, people and the environment, ecology, and sustainability. In my work as a translator and editor I have diversified into political science, history, nutrition, travel, tourism, advertising and PR. Cambridge born, Norfolk bred, and dragged off to Berlin by a German Fräulein an eternity ago, the theme of my life continues to be all things environmental, with my education covering both the physical and the social sciences as they pertain to the environment. My real-world activities have, at one time or another, included conservation work, field and lab work for an environmental consultancy, the authoring of magazine articles for The Ecologist, repeated stays with a long-suffering but tolerant tribe in the Western Amazon, and the translation and editing of all manner of texts related to science, people and the environment, ecology and sustainability.

My obsession with good English is treasured by my clients and dreaded by my (remaining) friends, but language is just one of my many interests. Other interests of mine include sustainable and regenerative agriculture, indigenous rights, the natural world, philosophy, history, science and technology, geopolitics, music, radical etymology (you might think that etymology should come under the heading of "language", but it's actually an extreme sport if you're doing it right), pottering about in the vegetable patch and anything involving wine, beer, whisky & rum.
