Lo primero que recuerdo es una llamada de mi hermano hablándome de hacer un festival de cine por Internet. Me pareció disparatado, pero decidí apoyarle. A los dos meses estaba en Barcelona. Recuerdo también la primera entrevista para un medio de comunicación: estábamos los dos dentro de la bañera. Recuerdo muchas discusiones, decepciones que se cruzaban con muchas ilusiones. Ilusiones y más ilusiones que hacían crecer el proyecto y nos impulsaban a seguir adelante. Muchos viajes en tren: Valencia-Barcelona con la confianza de ir cuesta abajo, Barcelona-Valencia aturdido por el vértigo. También un viaje en avión a Madrid para reunirme con cuatro ejecutivos que hacían preguntas en un idioma extraño mientras yo era engullido por el sofá. Recuerdo dormir con mi hermana en el suelo de una habitación atestada de mochilas, en la que casi nos asfixiamos. A Kuki, a Bati y a Richard. La llegada de Aimée. La aventura valenciana. Los esfuerzos de mi madre. Las meteduras de pata por culpa de mi mal inglés. Una noche que acabé rociado de gasolina por culpa de los nervios. Las borracheras del último día. Y recuerdo muchos abrazos, sobre todo uno con mi hermano.
Translation - English Memories
The first thing I remember is a phone call from my brother talking about creating an online film festival. I thought it was crazy but I decided to help him. Two months later, I was in Barcelona. I also remember our first media interview: we were both inside a bath. I remember many arguments, disappointments that clouded over many dreams; dreams and more dreams which made the project grow and propelled us onward; many train journeys: Valencia-Barcelona which felt like freewheeling downhill and Barcelona-Valencia which felt like being stunned from vertigo; a flight to Madrid to meet four businessmen who asked questions in a strange language while I was being gobbled up by the sofa. I remember sleeping on the floor with my sister in a room crammed with rucksacks where we almost suffocated; Kuki, Bati and Richard; Aimée's arrival; the Valencian adventure; my mother's efforts; the slip-ups with my English; the night that (due to nerves) I ended up doused in petrol; the drinking session on the last day. I also remember many hugs, most of all I remember hugging my brother.

Source text - Spanish Los Gigantes...
El festival se realizaba en dos sedes, por la mañana las conferencias en el Auditorio Winterthur de Barcelona, por la tarde las sesiones de música en las Cotxeres de Sans.
Las Cotxeres al ser un centro cívico de barrio, albergaba habitualmente a diferentes grupos y actividades de la zona, entre ellos a un grupo tradicional de Gegants (Gigantes) que cómo podrán imaginarse necesitaban un espacio para poder guardar a sus muñequitos mientras no los utilizaban.
XXX (hermano mayor de YYY) era entre otros, el “encargado” de la producción, pero recuerden que todos en ese equipo eran jóvenes e inexpertos, así que cada tarde estaba plagada de escenas surrealistas por causa de esa inexperiencia, se les colaban señoras curiosas con carritos de la compra que atraídas por el barullo que de pronto aparecían “para ver que estaban haciendo estos jóvenes”, grupos de abuelos que aparecían sentados viendo una sesión de música experimental, niños de barrio toqueteando los equipos del dj... estaban rebasados, el control de la puerta era un caos y XXX corría de la entrada al escenario intentando controlar la situación, de pronto algún voluntario (qué tampoco se enteraba de nada) va buscando desesperadamente a XXX, cuando lo encuentra le dice que vienen los gigantes!, XXX que ya no podía más con el estrés deja que su imaginación vuele en cuestión de segundos y concluye que viene una banda de barrio (estilo latin kings) a pegarles y a liarla gorda, sus nervios no lo soportan más y empieza a correr desesperado por todo el festival gritando: Qué vienen los Gigantes!!! Qué vienen los Gigantes!!! Nos van a matar!!! Nos van a matar!!!, todo esto mientras se aproximaba a la puerta convencido de tener que llamar a la guardia urbana para proteger a todo el mundo, cuando llega a la puerta se encuentra con dos hombres de 50 años aproximadamente, tan tranquilos esperando a entrar, mientras XXX recupera el aliento le explican que vienen por los Gigantes, que están detrás del escenario principal, para sacarlos para alguna fiesta del barrio de Sans.
Avergonzado y humillado, XXX intenta explicarles que no pueden sacarlos ahora pues en el escenario hay una actuación en ese momento, pero los hombres erre con erre, que sí, que no, que sí, que no, total que va a ser que si y los gigantes fueron sacados en medio de la actuación de una japonesa muy moderna cuya música no podía ser más ruidista y experimental, ante los ojos atónitos de la artista y del público las cabezas gigantes salieron atravesando todo el escenario como si fuera la fiesta mayor...
Translation - English The Giants...
The festival was hosted in two different places. In the mornings, the conferences were held in the Winterthur Auditorium of Barcelona and in the evenings, the music sessions took place at “Cotxeres de Sants”.
Since “Cotxeres” is a local community centre, it is usually used for different activities and used by different groups of the area. Among them there was a traditional group of “Gegants” (Giants), who as you can imagine, needed a big space to store their giant heads when they were not being used.
XXX (YYY’s older brother) was, among others, the “production manager". Everyone in the team was young and inexperienced and for this reason, every evening was plagued with surrealist scenes. Curious middle aged and old women (with their shopping trolleys) were often sneaking into the festival to see what the "kids" were up to. Groups of old men were watching experimental music sessions and local children were fooling around with the DJ equipment. We were snowed under from everything going on and the entrance to the festival was chaotic. XXX ran from the entrance to the stage in an attempt to control the situation. Suddenly, one of the many volunteers (who didn't have a clue) looked for Fran desperately. In a state of panic, the volunteer told him "the giants are coming!" Being stressed out at the time, XXX let his imagination run wild thinking that a local gang was about to come looking for trouble. He panicked and sprinted through the festival shouting: "the giants are coming!! The giants are coming!! They're going to kill us!! They're going to kill us!!" All this happened while he was running towards the entrance thinking that he would have to call the police. As soon as he arrived at the entrance XXX saw two calm middle aged men waiting to enter. XXX caught his breath and the two men explained that they were there to pick up the "Giant heads" that were stored behind the main stage and then take them to a local festivity in the area.
Still recovering from all the commotion, XXX tried to explain that they couldn't remove the giants just then because there was a performance going on. However, the two men went on and on and on and after all, the giant heads were taken out. This happened in the middle of a performance by a Japanese artist whose music couldn't be more experimental or any noisier. A stunned Japanese artist and a shocked audience saw how the giant heads marched across the stage.
