Bio
I'm very passionate about languages. Graduated from Glendon College/York University in Toronto, Canada with a BA in Hispanic Studies and a Spanish-English and English/Spanish Translation Certificate. I also acquired a minor in Linguistics.
I can speak, read and write fluent Portuguese. This is a skill I learned while living in Portugal for 9 years. I have just acquired the ILSAT Certification for Portuguese Interpreting and have completed over 70 hours of Interpreting Training with MCIS. Currently working as a Freelance Portuguese Interpreter. Please contact me for rates.
Also speak, read and write French which I learned both at a high school and university level. I have done some interpreting for Portuguese and Spanish in Toronto, Canada at high schools' parent-teacher interviews.
I have joined Proz.com so that i can gain more experience working as a translator. Therefore, I am open to translating about anything right now, until i can figure out which area i'm more comfortable in. I am very interested in the medical, financial, law and educational fields. Would like the opportunity to translate for you and put my acquired skills in use. Currently a member of ATA (American Translators Association) working towards certification.
Me gustaría empezar a traducir profesionalmente, para ganar más experiencia como traductora y también adquirir nuevas técnicas y usar programas de memorias de traducción. Acabo de graduarme con la Licenciatura en Estudios Hispánicos y un Certificado de Traducción de Español a Inglés de la Universidad de York de Toronto, Canada.
Los idiomas son mi pasión y la traducción me fascina. Por ahora, traduzco una gran variedad de temas. Documentos legales, medicina, finanzas, etc...
