Only two. I’ve been surprised by the lack of translations about Covid-19 (I do translate medical material). I did a first translation (EN-PT) at the end of January for a German Group advising their Portuguese workers placed in China on the do’s and don’ts during this crisis and then two weeks ago I did another one for the OPOCE explaining why answering some emails might take longer than usual.

Yes, I have received a couple of translations related to the Corona-virus and indeed I am about to start work on one right now. However, in common with Teresa I am surprised that I have not received more.

I don't have medical education, and I never translated medical related texts. I had great concerns on weather I really should translate such things, but... it turned out that it was all simple. Just plain advices on washing your hands. It's a great responsibility to translate COVID-19 related materials correctly. If we do it wrong, our clients die from corona, and we lose our money! Which is totally unacceptable.

I have translated two documents so far, one of which is about the general hygiene and social distancing measures we all know by now; as I translate medical material I would expect more Covid-19 related jobs though.

Only small projects, though. I hope COVID-19 will be over soon.
I’m an economics translator so COVID-19 is naturally dominating every forecast and analysis I translate to the point where nothing else matters. Well, to be more specific, it’s the economic effects of the countermeasures that are dominating; the disease itself will have little economic impact. Now obviously any forecasts right now are pure guesswork and caveated to the moon and back, so ultimately what I’m doing is a complete waste of time. And who cares about the... Now obviously any forecasts right now are pure guesswork and caveated to the moon and back, so ultimately what I’m doing is a complete waste of time. And who cares about the economic impact when the human impact is so great? But it keeps me quiet and pays the bills. The good news, though, is that the scenarios being modelled by economists, a fairly level-headed bunch, are a whole lot more positive than the picture painted in the media or financial markets. ▲ Collapse

Not much - a hand sanitizer package, a couple of in-game announcements regarding events being affected by lockdowns. I also reviewed a couple of surveys related to COVID-19, and I suppose I would have gotten some from a client that I dropped last year - but that was a decision that I felt I had to make, tough as it was. I'm not a medical translator, and I expect this type of material goes out to people who claim it as a specialization. Maybe I've gotten too specialized and need to s...
