My monthly income is very irregular and I’ll have to wait for the end of the month to know what income I’ll have as I work mainly with regular clients who are invoiced monthly, but the only two invoices I issued so far this month are more than 50% if I compare to last month. June has been a very good month…

who keeps track of these things?
I didn't issue all that many invoices for May in that most of the work I did went on the same invoice, and that was maybe about a fifth of my earnings so far this year.
I'm keeping tabs because I'm seriously in danger this year of going over the threshold for having to bill VAT, but I don't bother keeping track of how much each invoice represents and other weird considerations we've been polled about recently.

But as a freelancer, you never know. I might get a big translation in tomorrow which bumps my monthly income up to a reasonable amount.

Update: I've just received a 6.5K book chapter to translate, and it's an interesting text to boot. So that's my earnings back up to par for this month. And apparently the same client is going to send me more of the same. Which is nice

My latest invoice dates 31 May. I invoice once a month, except for new clients, because the less often I do admin, the better. I get my money at the end of the following month, except that a recent client won't comply and I have to wait until the 20 of the following one. It irks me, it's a stone in my shoe.

If I may, I fail to see any sense to this question. I issue my monthly invoices from my job list in TO3000. In May, I delivered 25 jobs and issued 5 invoices. I usually invoice f

If I may, I fail to see any sense to this question. I issue my monthly invoices from my job list in TO3000. In May, I delivered 25 jobs and issued 5 invoices. I usually invoice first the first order of the month (top of the list when sorted ascending) and last the last client who showed up that month (the only one remaining in the list). But I can of course invoice in a random order. And my reply would have changed.

Therefore the last invoice could be for a massive order or a one-off min fee. A massive amount or a few pennies, all governed by chance.
Poll question: What is to infer from this poll?

I send most of my invoices at the end of the month. Clients who send more than one job in a month get a single invoice for the last month's work.
This month I will be invoicing one client for six weeks' solid work on one job, which I started nearly two months ago, and I have another client whom I invoice quarterly to save on bank charges.

Otherwise my invoices vary from very small amounts - the equivalent of a few Euros, to a couple of thousand Euros for a client who has sent

Otherwise my invoices vary from very small amounts - the equivalent of a few Euros, to a couple of thousand Euros for a client who has sent several jobs.
Most are in Danish Kroner, some are in GB pounds, and in practice very few of my invoices are in other currencies.

My monthly earnings swing too, from zero in April this year, when I was not working, to quite a lot at the end of June, with the quarterly invoice coming up (equivalent of nearly a thousand Euros) and the other big job, besides a few small ones.

The answer to the question is that I haven't the faintest idea, even if I could remember which was the last of five invoices sent out on May 31...

I usually send several invoices, up to 8-10 a month. They vary from 10 USD to 400 euros, so...."Other".

I don't think this question is meaningful, at least in my case, because I have no way of averaging my monthly income. So far this year, my jobs have ranged in size from 2,885 words to 29,753 words.
