As Mark Twain once said, "Find a job you enjoy doing, and you'll never have to work a day in your life." Well, I seem to have found what I truly enjoy doing: translating. Let me tell you, I'm an introvert, or better said I'm the epitome of introversion, as Jung described it. By translating, I can convey messages, communicate, without actually getting out of my cocoon. And I seem to be doing it well. I translated in Romanian over 35 books written by most prestigious authors in the US. I translated Celine Dion's autobiography and Lance Armstrong's book, Every Second Counts. Am I proud of what I achieved? Of course, I am. Do I think that I can do more? Of course, I do. I translated around 20,000 pages overall from most of the fields and industries, from legal to economics, from marketing presentations to manuals and user instructions, from package inserts to the most complex scientific articles. We clearly can't do everything in a perfect manner, so I decided to do what I think I do best: literature, legal translations (I am a legal advisor by trade; I graduated from Law School in Bucharest), and (relatively recently added) medical translations. I do not do technical translations because I feel that I can't perform at highest standards. Everything I do, I strive to do best, not THE best, but the best that I can do, in the best version of myself as a translator. I've been translating since 2005, and since 2012 translating has become a full-time job.
