I am a 22-year freelance translator from Latvia. I was born in a bilingual family, speaking both Russian and Latvian as my native languages. At the age of 5, while in the kindergarten, I learned my first word in English and have developed passionate interest for languages since then. I started studying French during my school years and went on to receive a B.Sc. degree in French Philology from the University of Latvia.
I have lived and studied in a number of European countries, including France, England and Spain, which has helped me to further polish my sense for languages.
My principal field of interest is Finance. I hold a degree in Finance from the Banking Institution of Higher Education, situated in Latvia, and pursue my studies at the Masters level at one of Swiss business schools. I have been studying Finance and business-related subjects in all four languages that I translate from, which means I am fully capable of delivering a high-quality translation on the subject. I believe this to be my expertise, but I still have a number of other interests and do not limit myself to this particular subject in translations.
Thus, I have also translated legal documents, marketing texts and books on psychology, among others. For the last couple of years, I have been employed with local translation agencies.
Whenever I have a text to translate, I always ensure that I have complete understanding of the source text and find the appropriate means to convey the message and preserve the overall feeling of the document. I can also handle large orders quickly without any concessions on quality.
