Organisation und Aufgaben
Das medizinische Komitee trifft sich einmal im Jahr, die Arbeitsgruppen des Komitees zwei- bis dreimal.
Folgende Arbeitsgruppen sind festgelegt:
• AG Alpin mit Alpinskifahren, Freestyle und Snowboard
• AG Nordisch mit Langlauf, Nordische Kombination und Springen
• AG Education mit Kinder und Jugendfragen, sowie allgemeinem Skilauf
• AG internistische Medizin
• AG medizinische Richtlinien
• AG FIS ISS
Der Bereich Antidoping ist ausgegliedert. Dem Komitee wird regelmäßig berichtet.
Die verschiedenen Arbeitsgruppen haben folgende Aufgaben:
- Klare Statements im Bereich Medizin für andere technische Komitees /Sub-Komitees und Unterstützung dieser.
- Vorbereitung von Vorschlägen (keine Entscheidungen) für den FIS Vorstand
- Funktion als Medical Supervisor und Unterstützung des Organisationskomitees insbesondere bei Weltmeisterschaften
- Hilfe und Unterstützung im Bereich Aufklärung, Ausbildung usw.
- Aktive Hilfe und Unterstützung des FIS ISS Projektes
- Ständige Überarbeitung der medizinischen Leitlinien
Der Leiter der jeweiligen Arbeitsgruppe nimmt an den Sitzungen der entsprechenden Komitees/Sub-Komitees teil und steht für spezielle medizinische Fragen und Antworten zur Verfügung.
Tätigkeitsschwerpunkte in der Saison 2006 bis 2008
Nach dem FIS Kongress 2006 in Vilamoura hat am 30.09.06 in Zürich im Rahmen der FIS Herbstsitzung ein Treffen der Arbeitsgruppen stattgefunden.
Folgende Schwerpunkte wurden bearbeitet:
- Verletzungen und Überlastungen im Kinder- und Jugendbereich und deren Prävention
- Rückenprotektoren bei Freestyle und Snowboard
- Sicherheitsstandards bei Snowboard-Helmen
- Empfehlungen für Rollerskiing (Helme-Reflektoren usw.)
- Hypothermie: Neue wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse
- Medizinische Analyse Tour de Ski mit Teambefragungen
- Berichte der med. Supervisoren
- Unterstützung bei der Implementierung des FIS ISS Projektes
Bei der Sitzung des medizinischen Komitees am 26.05.07 in Portoroz und bei der Herbstsitzung in Zürich wurden folgende Hauptthemen zur Bearbeitung und Erledigung festgelegt:
- Erstellen eines einheitlichen Formblattes für den Bericht des Medical Supervisors
- Weitere Mitarbeit und Unterstützung des FIS ISS Projektes
- Überarbeitung der verschiedenen Medical Guides
- Ernährungsfragen und Essstörungen
- Erstellen einer Prioritätenliste im Bereich Ausbildung und Unterstützung neuer Skinationen
- Sammeln von Informationen über den Smog in Waxräumen
- Bericht über den momentanen Stand der Asthma Medikation
- Bericht / Ergebnisse über Skifahren mit künstlichen Gelenken
Die einzelnen Punkte werden von den jeweiligen Arbeitsgruppen zur Entscheidung vorbereitet.
Durch das System der Arbeitsgruppen konnte eine sehr effektive und praxisbezogene Arbeit bisher geleistet werden. Die Kommunikation mit anderen Komitees und Sub-Komitees hat für beide Seiten viele Vorteile gebracht und wird weiter intensiviert werden. Eine der wichtigsten Aufgaben des medizinischen Komitees ist, unseren wunderschönen Skisport positiv darzustellen und ihn vor ungerechtfertigten Angriffen und Beschuldigungen mit klaren wissenschaftlichen Argumenten zu schützen.

The medical committee meets once a year, the committee’s working groups two to three times a year.

- preparing proposals (not decisions) for the FIS Board
- acting as Medical Supervisor, and supporting the organising committee,
especially during World Cups
- help and support in the area of education, training, etc
- active help and support in the FIS ISS programme
- ongoing revision of medical guidelines
The leader of each working group takes part in the meetings of the relevant committee / sub-committee and is available to advise on matters of a specifically medical nature.
Areas of activity in the 2006 to 2008 season
After the FIS Congress in Vilamoura in 2006, a meeting of the working groups took place on 30.09.06 in Zürich, as part of the FIS autumn session.

- injuries and strains incurred by children and young people, and their prevention
- back protectors for freestyle and snowboarding
- safety standards for snowboard helmets

At the meeting of the medical committee on 26.05.07 in Potoroz and at the autumn meeting in Zürich, the following main topics were raised for discussion and resolution:

- further collaboration in and support for the FIS ISS programme
- revision of the various Medical Guides
- dietary issues and eating disorders
- production of a list of priorities for the education and support of new ski nations
- collection of information about fumes in wax rooms
- report on current developments in asthma medication
- report on / results of skiing with artificial joints
Decisions on the individual points are prepared by the respective working groups.
The system of working groups has made it possible to work very effectively and with a practical focus. The communication with other Committees and Sub-committees has brought many advantages to both sides and will be further intensified. One of the most important tasks of the Medical Committee is to present our wonderful sport in a positive light and to protect it with clear scientific arguments against unfounded charges and accusations.

Der Kollege M. kann morgens sein Büro nicht mehr lüften. Früher, sagt er, war es nur dienstags und freitags, dass die Müllabfuhr gut zehn Minuten vor seinem Parrterrefenster knatterte und Dieselmief abliess. Mittlerweile kommt sie auch noch montages, um das Altpapier zu holen, und mittwochs werden die Glascontainer entsorgt – nur einmal in der Woche kann M. bei frischer Luft ans Werk gehn, ansonsten stinkt es ihm erst mal. Und auch dieser Termin ist in Gefahr: Wenn die gelbe Tonne für den Kunststoff kommt, fürchtet M., wird die Entleerung auf seinen einzigen abgasfreien Arbeitstag fallen.
Der Müllverkehr vor M.s Büro verdeutlicht, dass die einzige wirksame Methode der Abfallbekämpfung, die Müllvermeidung, immer schwieriger zu realisieren sein wird. An jeder neuen bunten Tonne in unseren Hinterhöfen hangen nämlich tausende von Arbeitsplätzen. Entsorgung ist die Boom-Branche schlechtin. Dass die Industrie diesen jüngsten Spross des Wirtschaftwunders gleich wieder ruiniert, indem sie einfach weniger Müll produziert, ist also nicht zu befürchten. Die Garantie, dass es im Müllgeschäft weiter aufwärts geht: der grüne Punkt.
Man informiert mich: “Der grüne Punkt garantiert, dass diese Packung wiederverwertbar ist und recycelt wird, sobald Ihr Haushalt an das Sammelsystem des Dualen Systems angeschlossen ist.” Soll ich die Packung etwa so lange aufheben, bis der Anschluss an das System des Systems vollzogen ist? Manche Hersteller scheinen mit dieser Frage gerechnet zu haben und fügen dankenswerterweise hinzu: “Ansonsten geben Sie die Packung wie gewohnt zum normalen Hausmüll”. Der grüne Punkt signalisiert also gutes Gewissen, auch wenn alles wie gewohnt in die stinknormale Tonne abwandert. Dem wackeren Getrenntsammler aber verspricht er das entsorgungsmässige Nirwana. Dabei offenbart ein einziger Blick in jeden beliebigen Mülleimer, dass er vor Grünen Punkten nur so wimmelt. Ja, es scheint überhaupt kein Produkt mehr zu geben das ohne ihn daherkommt. Er ist also so allgegenwärtig, dass er gar nicht mehr auffällt.

Waste disposal is the epitome of the boom business so there’s hardly any risk of industry ruining this latest offshoot of the Wirtschaftswunder by just producing less waste. And the guarantee that things will continue to look up for the waste business? The Green Dot.
I am informed: “The Green Dot guarantees that this item of packaging is reusable and will be recycled, as soon as your household is linked into the collection system of the dual system.” Should I hang on to the packaging until the link to the system of the system has been made? Some manufacturers have apparently already given thought to this question and add, to my gratitude: “Otherwise dispose of the packaging as usual with your normal household refuse.” So the Green Dot signifies a clear conscience, even if everything does end up as usual in the normal bin. The valiant rubbish sorter, though, is promised waste disposal nirvana, where a single glance into any rubbish bin you care to choose will reveal that it’s crawling with Green Dots. Yes, it seems that there isn’t a single product left without one. It’s so ubiquitous that it no longer catches the eye.
