David Bannon is a translator and author. He taught college for many years and publishes on art, history, culture, and translation. He has appeared on Discovery Channel, A&E, History Channel, NPR, Fox News and in the The Wall Street Journal. He is an active member of the Rückert Society and a former member of the American Translators Association (ATA) and the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA). He has lectured at libraries and museums and was curator of Asian art for the Florence Museum of Art and History in South Carolina. He is the author of Wounded in Spirit (Paraclete, 2018), The Elements of Subtitles (Translation Studies, 2011), and Songs on the Death of Children (McFarland, 2022).
