Bio
Qualified Translator and Interpreter
Language combinations: EN>IT and ES>IT

My professional profile:
I graduated with the maximum grade in 2005 in Translation and Interpreting at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the "S.Pio V" university in Rome.

Then I attended a Master Course in Turin for liason and conference interpreters and I obtained the final certificate again with the best grade.

My work languages are English and Spanish. After the Master, I did some temporary jobs, for example I was an "international promoter" for the Piedmont region, as I was part of a group of young people travelling to some European cities to promote, mainly in English, the Winter Universiadi later held in Turin. I also worked as a Spanish teacher in an evening course for employed people.

At the same time, I started my collaboration with a translation agency based in Turin, specialised in the translation of patents and legal texts, and I worked for them 3 years as an in-house translator. Now that I am a freelance translator, the collaboration goes on and this job is giving me a high-level knowledge of terminology related to sectors such as: mechanics, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medicine, biology, electronics, telecommunications, information technology, avionics and so on.

However I also work in other fields: for example I translated screenplays, lyrics, turistic brochures etc.

I do also work occasionally as an interpreter, especially in the technical field and in the human rights field. In 2009, I started a collaboration with the ITC-ILO (Training Center of the International Labour Organization, based in Turin) where I have worked as a simultaneous and/or liason interpreter during various meetings and courses on different topics (such as child labour, trafficking of human beings, but also budget committees, workers/employers committees etc.).

I worked for four months at the Training Center of Alenia Aeronautics (a Finmeccanica Company) as language expert at training courses for Mexican pilots, maintenance managers, electrical specialists, avionics specialists etc.).

Since 2011, I occasionally work also as a Tour director for Ef - Educational tours and I accompany groups of tourists coming from the US, Canada and Puerto Rico through Italy and Europe.

In 2013, after attending a vocational training course, I obtained the professional certification for cultural mediators and since January 2014 I have started to cooperate with local hospitals and schools to improve intercultural communication between foreigners and locals.

You can read further details on my professional experiences in the attached CV. Please get in contact if you need an English version.

About me:
I am a friendly and open-minded person, I love travelling and meeting people from different parts of the world, learning about others' culture and traditions, as I think knowing and understanding each other is the key to avoid stereotypes, racism and conflicts.

I volunteer for an Italian association called "Emergency" whose aims are to provide free medical care in war-torn areas and spread a culture of peace and respect of human rights. I am also volunteering in a project for African refugees job and housing integration in the Piedmont region.
