Attached is a registration dossier for Colombia containing product information regarding new products that Lifecore Dental, a division of Lifecore Biomedical has developed for the Prima Implant System. These new products are:
I will be providing Certificates to Foreign Government that list the products in this dossier separately. They have been requested from the US FDA, but we have not received them yet.
Thank you for your help in submitting this dossier to the regulatory authorities in Colombia. So that we may be apprised of the status of this registration, please inform me when the dossier is submitted to the Health Authority as well as copy me on any correspondence that is received from the agency. Also if you would please send me an exact copy of what was submitted to the MOH. Once Lifecore has received a copy of the approval letter from the Health Authority, we will be able to provide Colombia with the new products that are developed for the PimaConnex Dental Implants.

Anexo se encuentra el expediente de registro para Colombia que contiene la información relacionada con los nuevos productos que Lifecore Dental, una división de Lifecore Biomedical, ha desarrollado para el Sistema Prima de Implantes. Estos nuevos productos son:
• Pilares PrimaConnex de Contorno Estético hechos en zinc.
• Pilares Temporales PrimaConnex hechos en Titanio.
Pronto estaré entregando los Certificados con destino al Gobierno Extranjero, que registran en forma separada la lista de productos que se encuentran en este expediente. Ellos han sido ya solicitados al Departamento de Alimentos y Drogas (FDA por sus siglas en inglés) de los Estados Unidos, pero aún no los hemos recibido.
Gracias por su colaboración en presentar este expediente a las autoridades reguladoras correspondientes en Colombia. Con el objeto de estar informados acerca del estado del presente registro, por favor infórmenme cuando el expediente sea aplicado a la Entidad de Salud correspondiente, y envíenme una copia de toda la correspondencia que reciban de dicha agencia. Por favor, si no tienen inconveniente, envíenme también una copia exacta de todos los documentos que se hayan aplicado a la MOH. Source text - Spanish In the last ten years, the number of medications taken by individuals in the United States has risen substantially. As more people take more medications, the potential of harmful and life threatening drug interactions has also dramatically increased. RxAmerica realizes the importance of educating members on the potential harmful effects of drug interactions and strives to ensure that you and your family receive effective and safe therapy and continue to be healthy. We always recommend discussing any new medication, over-the-counter product, or herbal vitamin with your physician and pharmacist before taking it. Discussing any new therapy will help ensure that your new therapy will be safe and effective with your existing drug therapies.
Did you know that certain foods can also cause drug interactions with medications, over-the-counter products and herbal vitamins? Listed below are some common drug-food interactions that can occur:
Cholesterol lowering medications, also known as “statins,” which include Lipitor, Lovastatin, Mevacor, Zocor, Simvastatin, Crestor, and Vytorin, should not be taken with grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Grapefruit juice can slow the metabolism of “statins” in the liver and can cause a higher dosage than normal. It is recommended not to have grapefruit juice within 2 hours of taking your “statin.”
Warfarin (also called Coumadin®) is a blood-thinner that works by stopping the body’s ability to use Vitamin K. Without Vitamin K the body cannot readily form blood clots. This in turn, reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. We receive Vitamin K from the food we eat. Vitamin K is typically found in green leafy vegetables such as lettuce and spinach. When taking warfarin you should keep a consistent diet of foods that contain Vitamin K. Rapidly changing your Vitamin K intake can affect how your warfarin or Coumadin® will work. Eating a lot of green leafy vegetables could cause your blood to clot while decreasing the amount you eat could cause bleeding.
Drug interactions can also occur when medications are taken with herbal products. Most people think that herbal products are natural so cannot cause problems. But unfortunately, they can affect how your existing medications work. Listed below are common drug-herbal interactions.
Please speak with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new medication, over-the-counter product, herbal formulation or vitamin product. This will help ensure that you and your family receive safe and effective drug therapy and minimize the chance for a drug or food interaction.

Se recomienda no tomar jugo de pomelo dentro de las 2 horas previas a la ingestión de cualquier medicina que pertenezca al grupo de las “estatinas”.
La Warfarina (también conocida como Comadin®), es un medicamento que diluye la sangre, haciendo que el cuerpo sea incapaz de utilizar la vitamina K. Sin esta vitamina, el cuerpo no puede formar coágulos fácilmente. Esto a su vez, reduce el riesgo de un ataque de apoplejía y de un ataque al corazón. Los seres humanos obtenemos la vitamina K del alimento que ingerimos. La vitamina K se encuentra típicamente en las verduras constituidas por hojas verdes, tales como la lechuga y la espinaca. Cuando consuma la Warfarina, usted debe mantener una dieta constante de alimentos que contengan vitamina K. El cambio rápido en la ingestión de vitamina K, puede afectar la forma como la Warfarina o Comadin® actuarán en su cuerpo. El acto de ingerir grandes cantidades de verduras de hoja verde podría causar la coagulación de la sangre, mientras que su disminución podría causar sangrado.
Las interacciones que se presentan entre las medicinas, pueden también ocurrir cuando éstas son consumidas en compañía de productos vegetarianos. La mayoría de la gente cree que los productos vegetarianos, por ser de origen natural, no causan problemas. Pero infortunadamente ellos pueden afectar la forma como actúan las medicinas que ya están siendo ingeridas. A continuación se relacionan algunas de las interacciones más comunes que se suceden entre algunas medicinas y los productos vegetarianos.
